New Waves, Same Thrill: Everything to Know About Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11

We hope your sea legs are ready, because this week marks the premiere of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11. More than four months after Season 10’s final episode, fans have been waiting for Monday-night guilty pleasure to return. On June 8, Captain Sandy and her crew set sail again in Bravo’s hit reality series, which follows superyachts, ultra-wealthy guests, and a mix of old and new faces on the Adriatic Sea. With plenty of drama, luxury, and high-stakes moments ahead, we can’t wait to see what this new season has in store.

What To Expect for Season 11

Set against the turquoise waters of Dubrovnik, Croatia, the same location where Game of Thrones filmed its most iconic coastal battles, it’s no wonder this season of Below Deck Mediterranean is drama at its highest. Usually, at sea, the crew becomes your family, but when old friends are at odds and new personalities clash, life below deck becomes all the more difficult. It takes a united front to handle the needs of luxury charter guests.

A fizzled Bromance: Joe and Nathan

With tensions at an all-time high between bosun Nathan Gallagher and deckhand Joe Bradley, we can safely say the honeymoon stage of their bromance is finally over. The show’s sneak peek showed a clearly disappointed, dare we say near-breakdown, of Nathan after learning that Joe is returning for this charter season, especially since they had a falling out at the end of last season. Nathan, now a family man with a new baby from former deckhand Gael, seemingly doesn’t agree with Joe’s playboy ways. That tension only grows as Joe seems to be eyeing Nathan’s position as bosun – a dramatic title grab we’re looking forward to.

Our favourite duo, Captain Sandy Yawn and Chief Stew Aesha Scott, are back. After working together on Below Deck Mediterranean for multiple seasons, their relationship has evolved from mentor–mentee to what Aesha lovingly calls Captain Sandy her “work wife.” This season, they stand on equal ground, and we get to see more of their growth and lovable on-screen interactions.

Chief Stew Aesha Scott and Her New Stews

This season, Chief Stew Aesha has a full crew with three new stews, Gen Lillie, Kayley Smith, and Kat Johnston, to complete her team. With a major change in her personal life ahead, it will be interesting to see how she manages these personalities. There’s already some competition brewing amongst them, and as new yachties on the show, everyone is hoping to prove themselves.

Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 is starting fresh with five crew members gone and seven new faces joining the yacht. The newcomers include chef Joy Lefaucheur, stews Gen Lillie, Kayley Smith, and Kat Johnston, plus deckhands Cooper Dawson and Luke Brumer. With Bravo leaning into a new Gen Z vibe, get ready for more drama, crazier nights out, constant hookups, and so many mentions of the word “rizz” you might lose count.

This new group of yachties is bringing different energy to the Med, and they’re ready to make an impact right away. From the first episode, it’s clear this season will be a wild ride.

Let’s get to know the vessel where all our Monday-night guilty pleasures will take place. Akira One is a 50-meter yacht built by the renowned builder Benetti. Designed by Stefano Natucci, its crisp white exterior with wood accents showcases Italian elegance in every detail. It’s also equipped with a plethora of water toys, an inflatable water park, and a jacuzzi. Originally built in 1998 and recently refitted in 2022, Akira One has been taking on the Med for decades. With that history, can this time-tested vessel help ground the crew and ready them to tackle interpersonal drama and guest expectations?

Below Deck’s Influence Beyond Reality TV

The Below Deck franchise has been on the air for 13 years, entertaining thousands of fans, creating viral moments, and most importantly unveiling the private lives of the yacht industry. Over more than a decade, Below Deck has slowly bridged the gap between the elite who dominate the yachting space and newcomers and affluent travellers who didn’t know it was possible to charter a yacht without dropping billions.

The franchise has pushed yachting into the mainstream and piqued the interest of many, especially those eager to charter yachts featured on TV. Of course, the response to the show hasn’t been all good, especially from industry insiders who prefer to keep yachting within their circle. Yet despite the criticism, it has given the secret world of yachting a platform to dock on.

Its importance to both the industry and mainstream media is especially prominent in Below Deck Mediterranean, where Captain Sandy is the franchise’s first and only female captain, a role long dominated by her male peers.

With fresh faces, shifting alliances, and plenty of luxury-fueled drama, Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most entertaining seasons yet.
